VfL Bochum Set to Face Fortuna Düsseldorf in Promotion/Relegation Play-Off

Two of Germany's most storied second-tier clubs, VfL Bochum and Fortuna Düsseldorf, will go head-to-head in this season's promotion/relegation play-off for a spot in the Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season. The two-legged affair will determine which club earns promotion to the top flight and which remains in the 2. Bundesliga.
High Stakes Matchup
Both Bochum and Düsseldorf have had successful seasons in the second division, with Bochum finishing in sixth place and Düsseldorf claiming the third spot. The play-off provides both teams with a chance to achieve their goal of playing in the Bundesliga next season.
The first leg of the play-off will take place on May 25th at Bochum's Vonovia Ruhrstadion. The return leg will be held on May 29th at Düsseldorf's Merkur Spiel-Arena. The winner of the play-off will join FC Schalke 04, Hertha BSC, and Hamburg SV in the Bundesliga next season.
